Thank you for visiting my profile!
My name is Sami Qawasmi, I’m a class of 2021 Football player, and I have aspirations to further my education and football career in college. I live in the small, but growing city of Frisco, Texas, and I attend Frisco Rick Reedy High School home of the Reedy Lions. My goal is to not only attend a Division 1A University, but to also graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and have the privilege of representing a College Football team every week for the 4 years that I attend college. I play Running Back on offense, but I usually also take reps at Slot Receiver. I play Cornerback on defense, and I usually am a Return Specialist and a Gunner on Special Teams, but I can also be a Long Snapper. I would be the best decision you would make because of how I prepare myself. My biggest pro is my speed and elusiveness, which I use to 1st get into open field and then to break away from chasing defenders. I spend a lot of time in the film room scouting and mentally preparing for the looks I will see from my opponent. I like to make sure I’m not only physically prepared, but also mentally prepared, and prepared in all aspects. The film scouting I do also helps me on the defensive side, because I can not only think like a Receiver, but also helps me know the athlete in front of me better than he might know himself. I work harder than others, because my size does give me a disadvantage, but instead of sitting there and feeling bad for myself, I find ways to make up for it in other parts of my game. I usually begin training for the next season a week after the previous season ends, so since most other players don’t start for another 7 months when mandatory workouts begin, I have an advantage. The scouting I do also helps me, because I know what my opponents tend to do, so I adjust my game in a way that can beat their game plan. I have attended top-notch camps such as FBU, VTO Sports Elite 100, Rivals Speed Camp, and I have received multiple college camp invites. My goal is to find the right college for me, and that I will have the opportunity to represent my school to the best of my ability between the lines, in the classroom, and in the community. Thank you for visiting my profile and reading my statement, please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime, have a great day!
Regards,
Sami Qawasmi

Paper that I wrote for a class on what Football is to me:
On September 9th, 2015, I put on the Pads, Helmets, and Cleats, stepped out onto the Frisco High School Football Field. It was the 1st time I ever set foot on one, clueless that the journey I was about to embark on would be one that would make a game not just a game to me, but a game that became a Lifestyle to me. Standing at 5’5 , 120 Pounds, and playing Running Back, you have a lot to prove. Football is not fun it’s hard work. And that hard work is what brings me back for more. Football is getting up on Wednesday morning after a game at 4:00 A.M, to go lift weights when today is supposed to be your only off-day of the school week. Football is getting up earlier on Thursday and Friday before 6:30 A.M practice to go lift weights and run. Football is getting hit for 2 hours constantly on Thursday and Friday mornings when you’d rather be sleeping like the rest of the world. Football is staying up late Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday watching game tape on your next opposing school, and not going to bed until Midnight when you know you have to be up at 3:30 A.M the next morning. Football is not taking the Weekend off to chill, instead it’s taking that Weekend to get ahead of everyone else. Football is getting up even earlier on Monday to lift, run, and watch another tape of film on your next opponent, and then going and getting tossed around for 2 hours again at practice. Football is staying up until 2:00 A.M the night before a game and then waking up at 5:30 A.M on Tuesday, Game Day, to go run 4 Miles and lift more weights. Football is stepping out onto the field on Tuesday night and getting everything knocked out of your for the next 32 Minutes, and 4 Quarters. It’s getting hit so hard and still getting up because you have 10 other brothers on that field you don’t want to disappoint. Football is digging deep in the tank in the 4th Quarter with the game on the line when you got nothing left. And at the end of those 32 Minutes, after all the work you have put in the last week, there is no guarantee you will get to put another Win in the Win Column of your Record. Football is after the game is over and you get home, knowing you have to get up the next morning at 4:00 A.M, is going back through the games film and critiquing every move and step you took, and not getting into bed before 1:30 A.M after a 19 and a half hour day. That’s Football, it’s not fun and never will be fun, and that’s why not many can do it. You’ve got to love it so much that when it pushes you of a cliff, and you break every bone in your body, that you’re still willing enough to climb right up that mountain, onto that cliff, and be ready to be pushed harder and higher than the last time. Football is knowing all that in your mind, and not complaining because you love it like a Mother Duck loves her Duckling, that’s what it takes to play Football at high level.
